Organ donation turns tragedy into hope

When tragedy strikes, and a loved one is passes away, the flood of emotion often becomes overwhelming. The thought of others in that time of need is the height of unselfishness. One such way to think of others is through the donation of organs and tissues to help save lives. There is a tremendous need for organs as thousands are currently waiting for life-saving transplantation. One organ donor can save up to eight lives, a message at the forefront of National Organ Donation Month this April.

Girl Scout sign-up event scheduled in Marshall

Marshall area girls will have a chance to find out about Girl Scouts and to join scouts at an event that will be held on Tuesday, April 22, at Spainhower Primary School. Representatives from Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland as well as local leaders will be on hand to help girls do a craft and learn more about the opportunities when they become involved in scouting.
