Representatives from several townships in Saline County attended the Develop Saline County Advisory Board meeting held Wednesday, April 10, and discussed the projects they anticipate starting when the Economic Development Sales Tax funds are distributed.They represented Arrow Rock, Slater, Sweet Springs, Grand Pass, Nelson, Miami, Malta Bend, and Blackburn.Kirby McCullough, with the Village of Arrow Rock, presented renderings of the old schoolhouse building.

The City of Marshall Animal Shelter is getting a creative makeover with the help of Missouri Valley College’s Fine Arts Department.The Marshall Police Department reached out to Professor Colleen Smith, who heads the Fine Arts Department at MVC, to ask her students to submit preliminary sketches for murals that would be painted both inside and outside the shelter.
