A kayak and boat race across the Missouri River will test the mettle of competitors this July, as paddlers will venture from Kaw Point Park in Kansas City, Kan., and travel 340 miles downstream, across nearly the entire state of Missouri.The MR340 is the world’s longest river race, according to Missouri River Relief, the hosting organization that seeks to protect river resources.
