Four I-70 Division 8-man teams knock heads in jamboree at Santa Fe
Just as was the case at numerous locations throughout the state of Missouri, a football jamboree took place at Santa Fe High School in Alma last Friday night.Taking part were four Central River League I-70 Division teams — Sweet Springs, Concordia, Saint Paul and the host Chiefs.Each team ran 12 offensive plays and played defense 12 plays versus each opponent.

Some conference realignments in 8-man football
With more schools in the Missouri State High School Activities Association transitioning to 8-man football from the 11-man game, there was a need for some conference realignment or the moving of some teams to make the conferences more geographically sound.So, this year, the Central River League has been broken up into three divisions.There will be an I-70 Division and also the North and South Divisions.Two of the area 8-man teams— Sweet Springs and Santa Fe — will remain in the I-70 Division.The change in that division is the addition of Wellington, which is transitioning from the 11-man game and will be playing 8-man for the first time in school history.
