December 2, 1954 — September 15, 2022Arvin Ray Johnson, 67, of Slater, died Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

No public services will be held. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat or Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born December 2, 1954 in Marshall, he was the son of the late Marvin and Darlene Malan Johnson.

He is survived by two brothers, Richard Johnson of rural Slater, and Butch Johnson of Gilliam; two sisters, Lynda Wiseman and Marchell ‘Trinket’ Harris, both of Miami; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a 1972 graduate of Slater High School. He worked at GE, and subsequently retired from Parker-Hannifin as a welder.
