On Friday, April 10, at the J. Huston Tavern, the Arrow Rock Chapter NSDAR presented their annual American History Essay awards. Teachers, parents, and chapter members delighted in hearing the winning essays read by their authors.This year’s subject was the 1896 debut march of John Phillip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.” All the entrant’s essays were outstanding, but the essays of these three were chosen by the judges.
