Angela Parkhurst

On July 21, 1979, at 7:21 a.m. God gifted Doug and Jeanne Parkhurst an angel, Angela, to love and care for the last 44 years and 9 days.  On July 30, 2023, God called his angel home.

During her life she attended the Children’s Therapy Center, the Rainbow Center for Communicative Disorders, and Prairie View State School.  Upon graduation, Angela attended the Center for Human Services Activity Center, and with her special helper, Tamra Bolden, was actively involved in the community.  Angela was well known in the community as her favorite activity was going out to eat or going for a ride.  With her family, Angela enjoyed big family dinners, going to church, swimming, family vacations, camping and going for boat rides.  She loved music and was often seen tapping her foot to the rhythm.  In 2017, Angela moved into her home with her friend, Gina, and with wonderful support staff, they enjoyed living life to the fullest.

Angela is survived by her parents, Doug and Jeanne; her brother, Chad Parkhurst (Megan) of Marshall; her sister, Jillian Parkhurst Nienaber (Tyler) of Marshall; nieces and nephews: Kyra, Benjamin and Chandler Parkhurst, and Kamden, Violet, Gianna and Arthur Nienaber; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Angela was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents, Vernon and Bonnie Conrad, and Dean and Sharon Parkhurst; and her aunt, Beth Stanley.

Angela was loved by many and although we are sad, we know she is singing and dancing in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with Rev. Larry Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Saline County Center for Human Services Activity Center and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.
