August 13, 1942 – July 3, 2023

David Allen Jackson, age 80 of Shawano, Wisc., passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 3, 2023, with his loving wife by his side.

David was born Aug. 13, 1942, in Ashland, Wisc., to the late George and May (Geise) Jackson. On May 11, 1968, David was united in marriage to the former Gloria Weinreich at United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria; siblings, Carol Dillingham, George Jackson, Jim Jackson, Bob (Kathy) Jackson; and sister-in-law, Delores Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and May Jackson; daughters, Ronda, Regina and Renee; siblings, Donald (Donna) Jackson, Dick Jackson, Joan (John “Jack”) Emerson; and sister-in-law, Sheila Jackson.

As a testament to David’s faith and perseverance, he shared these words to his grieving wife, Gloria, after the loss of two of their daughters in a fire, “But I still have you.” It will be a memory that Gloria will cherish forever.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shawano. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church and continue until the time of service. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery with military honors. Mickelson Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
