John William Anson

March 21, 1950 – May 23, 2023

John William Anson, 73, of rural Lebanon, Mo., formerly of Marshall, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at his home.

Born March 21, 1950, in Trenton, Mo., he was the son of the late Edward Mode Anson Sr. and Eleanor Jean Hetzer Anson. John lived in Marshall for many years and was a 1968 graduate of Marshall High School. He worked as a human resource manager for most of his career. John moved to the Lebanon area to be with his companion, Carol Harper, and they attended First United Methodist Church in Sedalia.

In addition to his companion, Carol Harper of the home, he is survived by two children, Mary Jean Anson-Molina and Mark Joseph Anson; two grandsons, Liam and Logan; two sisters, Rebecca Anson Reilly (Mike) of Overland Park, Kan., and Pam Norton (Paul) of London, England; Carol’s three sons, Michael (Christy), Marty (Holly) and Stephen (Sandra) Doogs; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three aunts, Judy Frerking (Gerry) of Marshall, Elaine Smith of Aurora, Colo., and Mona Humphrey of Bozeman, Mont.; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.

John was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward Mode Anson Jr.; and a nephew, Kevin Michael Reilly.
