Larry was born Feb. 27, 1949, in Marshall, to the late Louis P. Arth and Irene M. Lynch Arth. He was a lifelong Marshall resident, member of St. Peter Catholic Church where he served as an Altar boy and was a graduate of Mercy Academy. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy and then returned to Marshall where he began a 36-year career with Marshall Municipal Utilities and served in various capacities.

Larry met and married Sheila Barron in 1986, and they were soon the parents of three sons. As these lads grew and family time became very important to Larry, he took a great liking to Bennett Spring for trout fishing on the weekends and vacations. Larry was a people person, so he could be found quite often with a group of coffee drinkers at the local McDonald’s. He was an avid race fan and several times journeyed to the Daytona 500 in a motor home with friends. He was always interested in cars and spent much of his spare time with his cousin, Gary Arth, at the body shop.

Survivors are his wife, Sheila Arth; and sons, Blake Arth (Megan), Brandon Arth and Brian Arth (Julie); three grandchildren, Brock Waters, Meadow Arth and Lennox Arth; and his in-laws, Bill and Shirley Barron. Larry had no siblings, but several cousins survive.
