Beverly ‘Jean’ Steding

Beverly “Jean” Steding, 85, of rural Nelson, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, in Higginsville, with William W. Harlow officiating. There will be no visitation. Born Nov. 8, 1936, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Lee Potter and Frances Marie Poindexter Potter. On Nov. 23, 1954, she married Floyd E. Steding, who survives of the home. Jean lived in Saline County all of her life and worked as a nurse at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for many years, as well as being a homemaker for her family.

In addition to her husband of over 67 years, Floyd, of the home; she is survived by four children, Richard Steding (Vicky) of Marshall, Larry Steding of Marshall, Kelly Davis (Clay) of Marshall and Bruce Steding (Janis) of rural Nelson; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue Shelton (Dean) of rural Houstonia; a brother-in-law, Jim Steding (Sandra) of Nixa; as well as nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Jason Steding; and a sister, Charla Potter.
