May 8, 1973 – July 7, 2022
Former Marshall, Mo., resident David Kennedy, 49, died in his home in Cottonwood, Ariz., on July 7, 2022.
David was born in Kansas City, Mo., on May 8, 1973, to Catherine and Mark Kennedy.
He spent nine years building a business the Cottonwood, Ariz., community could rely on. David welcomed every person who walked through his door, and if that person continued to patron his establishment, that person became family. In kind, the community of Cottonwood accepted him and grew with him.
He loved to travel, be it planned or spontaneous. He loved adventure and being an entrepreneur. He loved life with interest and curiosity and shared that personality with everyone he met. David pushed everyone around them to better themselves. He lived and worked for his family and friends to enjoy life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed.
David is survived by his three daughters, Jade, Justice and Page of Kansas City, Mo.; his wife of nine years, Dee Dee of Cottonwood Ariz.; his father, Mark Kennedy; his stepmother, Rosemary Kennedy of Lincoln, Mo.; his mother, Catherine Ocon of Las Vegas Nev.; and his siblings, Damien Kennedy, Tabitha Burnett, Theresa McGuire and Brian Roy.
Celebration of life to be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022. We will meet at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Marshall around 11 a.m. and then go to the Saint Mary cemetery in Shackleford for the service. Afterward, we will go back to the hall for a meal: meat, potato salad, baked beans and iced tea will be provided, and side dishes are welcomed.
Please come with stories in memories to help us celebrate David’s life.
