Howard W. Aldredge

Howard W. Aldredge, 90, of Marshall, Mo,. formerly of Marshall Junction, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to New Salem Baptist Church or Community Cancer Center. Born Sept. 20, 1931, in rural Nelson, he was the son of the late Amos Raymond Aldredge and Dorothy Lucille Tavenner Aldredge. On Jan. 7, 1957, he married Shirley J. Sullivan, who preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 2018. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. Howard lived in Saline County most of his life and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church at Marshall Junction. He retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation after 35 years of service and was a supervisor. Following his retirement, he was a road grader operator for Wayne Brown Construction. 

Survivors include two sons, Tim Aldredge (Staci) of Longview, Texas, and Merlin Aldredge (Lori) of Marshall; six grandchildren, Zach Aldredge, Kacy Bristol (Daniel), Tessa Watkins (Austin), Hannah Davis (Dax), Emily Hemmer (Andy) and Carlie Aldredge; six great-grandchildren: Hudson and Harlan Aldredge, Jack and Otis Hemmer, and Veda and Abram Bristol; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Marvin Aldredge; and one sister, Dorothy Gadberry.
