P. E.O. sisterhood promotes education for women

The Missouri State Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood held its 131st annual convention June 6-8. More than 300 representatives of P.E.O. chapters across Missouri attended including delegates, Judy Teupel, President of the JS Chapter of Marshall and Brenda Jansen, President of Chapter LP, Marshall, who reside in Sweet Springs. Also attending from the area were Rebecca Early and Lori Godsey from Chapter GM of Marshall.

June marks National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month

June serves as National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, a time when health advocates and families affected by dementia unite to raise awareness about a disease that impacts more than 6 million Americans. A monthly support group meets at Fitzgibbon Hospital for those wanting to learn more about Alzheimer’s or dementia, or for those who are struggling with the disease themselves.
