MoDOT Extends Weight Allowance for Truckloads of Aggregate Used in Flood Relief and Levee Repair

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced an extension of an allowance for heavier-than-normal truckloads of rock, sand and gravel on Missouri highways for flood relief, levees and other public infrastructure flood repair. The waiver allows private and for-hire motor carriers to haul up to 10% more than their licensed weight on Missouri highways.

SCCC DECA students compete at the DECA Orlando, Florida competition

Five students from the Saline County Career Center attended and received recognition at the DECA International Career Development Competition (ICDC), held from April 25-30, in Orlando, Fla. This year’s conference featured over 25,000 members and advisors in attendance. In addition to career-based competitions, DECA members engaged in leadership academies and networking opportunities with over 70 internationally recognized businesses and universities. All 50 states were represented at ICDC, along with participants from Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, China, and Germany.

Booths available for Senior Appreciation Day at the Missouri State Fair

Organizations that serve older adults are invited to reserve booth space for Senior Appreciation Day, set for August 13, at the Missouri State Fair. Each year Care Connection for Aging Services in cooperation with Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services and the Missouri State Fair, sponsors a series of events especially for seniors.
