Ottawa upsets top-seeded Vikings’ men’s volleyball team
The No. 1 seeded Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team hosted No. 8 seeded Ottawa (Kan.) in the quarterfinal round of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament, Saturday afternoon. The Vikings fell behind early, and eventually lost the contest by scores of 21-25, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25.
‘Hounds hold off Pilot Grove, 7-6
Sweet Springs nearly surrendered a three-run lead in the top of the seventh inning, but sophomore Drayton Hampton struck out the final two batters he faced to preserve a 7-6 victory at home Monday.

Lady ‘Hounds split games
A day after the Sweet Springs Lady Greyhounds blew a two-run seventh-inning lead and lost 4-3 at Cole Camp on April 10, they rebounded to handle the visiting Orrick Lady Bearcats 16-1.
