The Marshall Owls’ boys’ tennis team dropped all nine matches and lost to the Warrensburg Tigers on the road March 25.
Although the Marshall track and field teams didn’t have an event winner, each squad managed to earn multiple runner-up spots in events at the Marshall Open Medal meet March 27.
Ian Verts’ Marshall Owls’ baseball team rallied from a three-run deficit to tie the score with Fulton in the bottom of the fifth inning. But the visiting Hornets pushed across a run in the top of the sixth to retake the lead and went on to claim a 6-5 North Central Missouri Conference victory at the MHS Sports Complex March 25.
It was a tough first part of last week for area softball and baseball teams.
Four Eldon Mustangs shot under par, and the visiting Mustangs defeated the Marshall Owls on the Indian Foothills Golf Course March 25.
The Missouri Valley College men’s and women’s golf teams played in the Central Methodist (Mo.) Spring Invitational at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville, Mo., March 24 and 25. Both teams produced the individual champion, and the men’s team placed first overall in the standings.
