MHS media class introduces Alumni Spotlight

The Marshall High School News Media Class is excited to introduce the MHS Alumni Spotlight. Alumni can fill out the Google Form on the Marshall Public Schools website for a chance to be featured. The class anticipates a larger response, so please be patient. They will endeavor to cover all responses in the order received. Responses may be edited for content and length. Inappropriate, demeaning, or hateful comments and responses will not be considered for publication.

Missouri Roadway Fatalities Continue to Trend Downward

JEFFERSON CITY – According to preliminary data, 954 fatalities occurred on Missouri roadways in 2024. This is a decrease of 4% when compared to 2023, and a decrease of 10% compared to 2022. This is the second consecutive year that Missouri has seen a decrease in roadway fatalities. Despite the continued progress, this still amounts to nearly three lives lost on Missouri roadways every day, leaving plenty of room for improvement in 2025. The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety stresses how the four simple actions of Buckle Up, Phone Down, Slow Down and Drive Sober could put a big dent in the fatality numbers.

Alzheimer’s Support Group to Provide Tips and Strategies

Alzheimer’s Disease affects millions of American families, and Saline County is no exception. This long journey requires love and a lot of support from the community. This disease is an emotional and financial strain on the families who are experiencing Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Missouri Chapter, meets monthly at Fitzgibbon Hospital, assisted by staff of The Living Center, the Medicare-certified nursing home on the hospital campus.
