State Historical Society of Missouri hosts Legends of Conservation exhibition and talks

COLUMBIA, Feb. 6, 2025 – A one-day only exhibition and talks featuring conservation’s influential pioneers and the early movement in Missouri to restore forests, fish and wildlife in Missouri will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the State Historical Society of Missouri, 605 Elm St., Columbia. Legends of Conservation, a life-size display of trailblazing conservationists, including Aldo Leopold, Rachel Carson, John Muir, and others, will be set up in the lobby of the State Historical Society on Feb. 15 only. Concurrently, the public can also visit Wild Missouri – The ART of Conservation, an exhibition at the SHSMO Art Gallery now through March during regular visitor hours. The public is invited to this free event.

Valley wrestling teams sweep Eagles

The Missouri Valley College men’s and women’s wrestling teams traveled to Fayette, Mo., for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual doubleheader, Wednesday evening. The No. 18 men’s team earned a 22-14 win against No. 16 Central Methodist, taking six of the 10 contested weight classes. The No. 10 women’s team won seven of the 10 weight classes, including four victories by pin to defeat the No. 18 Eagles, 33-14.
