Former Marshall business owner accused of stealing funds meant for headstone orders

The owner of a former Marshall business is being charged with stealing and receiving stolen property, as well as an employee and the business itself.According to unofficial online court documents, Karen Mullins, 59 of Marshall, former owner of Marshall Monuments LLC; Christy Soltes, 49 of Marshall; and Marshall Monuments have been charged with class D felonies in Saline County for stealing of $750 or more and receiving stolen property.A probable cause statement filed with the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, five different victims reported at different times they wrote checks to Marshall Monuments for deposits and payments for headstones for their loved ones.

Sample takes over Lady ‘Cats on hardwoods
