‘Cats fall to No. 5 Braymer

For a half, the Slater Wildcats held the upper hand in their battle with state-ranked Braymer.But the Bobcats and their all-state quarterback were too much in the end.Senior Jordan Haley threw eight touchdown passes, leading the Bobcats to a 62-40 come-from-behind victory on the Slater football field last Friday.The Wildcats led the game 34-20 at the half, but Braymer scored 42 unanswered points through the third quarter and part of the fourth.Down 20-14, the ‘Cats rallied to score the final three TDs of the first half — a 58-yard kickoff return by senior Brandon Terrill, a 17-yard pass from senior Chase Hemeyer to Terrill and a 7-yard pass from Hemeyer to senior Jalen Knox.But the ‘Cats’ offense was stifled in the second half.
