Aggies pull away, hand Slater second loss of season

In weeks four and five, the Slater Wildcats outscored their opponents 166-0 on the gridiron.But in week seven, the Hardin-Central/Norborne Aggies stymied the Wildcats’ offense.The Aggies grabbed the lead early in the first quarter and Slater never caught up.The Aggies finished the game by scoring the final 36 points in a 60-12 victory to spoil Slater’s homecoming.The Aggies rolled up 310 yards of offense and held Slater to 162.Hardin-Central/Norborne led 24-12 after the first quarter, 34-12 at the half and 54-12 with a quick-clock fourth quarter to go.The Aggies scored eight touchdowns, including six on the ground.

MDC reminds deer, turkey hunters of archery permit change

CAPE GIRARDEAU – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reminds hunters of regulation changes for the current archery deer and turkey hunting seasons, including a new fall turkey permit.“MDC has created a new fall turkey-hunting permit, so turkey permits are no longer included with an archery deer-hunting permit,” said Russell Duckworth, MDC Protection Captain.

Care Connection to assist seniors with Medicare Part D enrollment at Senior Center

Care Connection for Aging Services is now booking appointments to help senior citizens compare Medicare Part D plans for the upcoming open enrollment period beginning on October 15th.Care Connection Options Counselors will be at the Marshall Senior Center, located at 14 E Morgan St., on Wednesday, November 13, from 10 a.m.
