Vikes fall to MidAmerica

Two weeks after the Missouri Valley College offense fell flat in the second half, gave up a 16-6 lead and lost 26-16 at Baker, the Valley offense had a tough time again in the second half at MidAmerica Nazarene. After a week off, both teams were healthy and fresh. But the host Pioneers played better and more disciplined and downed Valley 34-7 in front of a Homecoming crowd at the Olathe District Activity Center last Saturday. The Vikings trailed nationally ranked MNU throughout, but they missed some chances to close the gap and at one point tie the score.“We had plenty of opportunities to score and keep that game within shooting distance, and we didn’t get it done,” Valley first-year head coach Casey Creehan said.MNU started fast. The Pioneers drove 65 yards in eight plays and scored on a 10-yard pass from Adrian Parsons to Rahkeem Hamilton less than 2-1/2 minutes into the game.Valley’s offense answered by moving the ball to the MNU 37.
