Owls score 27 points in loss at Richmond

Despite the Marshall Owls’ offense looking the best it has this season, host Richmond took advantage of a few MHS mistakes and held off a late charge to win the non-conference matchup 49-27 last Friday.The Owls, who had been held to less than a handful of first downs versus Boonville in week two, ran the ball with authority for much of the game versus Richmond.Marshall totaled 263 yards on the ground and 343 yards of total offense versus the Spartans.“We had multiple opportunities, and unfortunately, we turned the ball over a few times in critical situations,” MHS head coach Ian Verts said.
