The wind is blowing cold through the holler I’m sure it’s just as bad up on the hill The cattle huddle close against the cold at Star Gap And the season slows a bit for Kim and Bill On the court square the lights are shining A bright star shines down on from the mountainside The streets are aglow with Christmas lights But the warmest light shines from inside Christmas in the Ozarks … A holiday in the pines Songs ring out about a savior … Even the youngest sing the lines Christmas in the Ozarks … Such a joyful sight And in the winter skies we see … That beautiful star still shines bright The leaves are gone now from the hardwoods The pines and the cedars stand straight and tall Like hundreds of Christmas trees dotting the forest And bringing fine memories for one and all Christmas in the Ozarks … A holiday in the pines Songs ring out about a Savior … Even the youngest sing the lines Christmas in the Ozarks … Such a joyful sound And in the warmth of every home … Friends and loved ones gather ‘round.

Many of us are approaching the holidays while grieving a loss that has happened in our lives this year, or one that occurred in the not-so-recent past.
