Marshall was haunted by hundreds of monsters, villains, superheroes and princesses Thursday evening, Oct. 19, and they all wanted one thing – candy. Trick-or-treaters donned their favorite Halloween costumes this year and, in usual fashion, made their way around the downtown area as businesses and community organizations handed out treats. This year’s Trick-or-Treat on the Square, organized by the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, featured a hayride, food trucks, and an open courthouse, where Saline County Courthouse offices handed out candy. Tables were set up on both the inside and outside sidewalks of the square. And some businesses, such as Community Bank, the Marshall Cinema, and Wood & Huston Bank – beckoned the little goblins inside for magic and frights.
