Fort Leavenworth: Why the Weds was won!

Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas is a sprawling, 5,600 acre Army Military Base in which much of it is frozen in time. Home to the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, the Fort is often referred to as, “the intellectual center of the Army.” The Forts storied history reflects America’s history. Built in 1827 it is the second oldest continued use military base west of Washington D.C.

Hydrant flushing continues

Marshall Municipal Utilities continues fire hydrant flushing project throughout Marshall. Notices had been mailed to residents regarding the project. This hydrant was flushed at the intersection of College Street and Salt Pond Avenue on Thursday morning, Oct. 5.

MMU approves annual MSDC contract, bid for truck body

The Marshall Board of Public Works met Thursday, Sept. 14, where MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom presented the annual funding agreement to assist Marshall Saline Economic Development Corporation – or MSDC. The agreement states that Marshall Municipal Utilities will pay MSDC $30,000 annually, in quarterly payments, in exchange for their economic development efforts. According to meeting minutes, the agreement renews automatically unless it is terminated. No action was taken, allowing the agreement and funding to continue through Sept. 30, 2024.
