Federal investigation says railroad crossing design contributed to deadly Mendon train crash

Missourinet Federal safety investigators say the design of a railroad crossing contributed to a deadly crash between a dump truck and an Amtrak train in northern Missouri last year. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released its final report on the June 2022 derailment in Mendon that killed three train passengers, the dump truck driver, and injured nearly 150 others.

VBS kicks off with obstacle course, bounce house

“Twists and Turns” Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church in Marshall will begin with a kickoff on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 4:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. There will be an obstacle course with a bounce house, food and music, and a whole lot of fun. This will be a time of registration for VBS which will begin each evening at 5:30 p.m. This is a free event for the children of our community, Aug. 6-10.
