For many years, local pilots and aviation enthusiasts have traveled to Oshkosh, Wisc., to attend a large air show known as EAA Air-Venture Oshkosh. This week-long event is held annually in late July and includes civil, military, commercial, and experimental aircraft. The show has been organized for decades by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).

The seventh annual Project S.H.A.R.E. event will be held Aug. 10 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Martin Community Center. This one-stop resource event was developed through a partnership between the Marshall Public School Social Work Department and the Missouri Valley Community Action Agency to help alleviate the multiple needs of students and families at back to school time. The name, Project S.H.A.R.E., stands for Safety, Health, and Resource Education. This event provides a one-stop location for services and resources.

COLUMBIA — The Missouri Department of Conservation is partnering with Forest ReLeaf of Missouri to provide free trees to Missouri communities through the CommuniTree Program. This year, communities can request that trees be delivered to the MDC Central Regional Office in Columbia on Oct. 12 for pick up.
