One of the purposes of the Marshall Writers’ Guild is to encourage and inspire writers. For the last several years, except during Covid 19, the Marshall Writers Guild has sponsored writing awards for young writers. MARSHALL – REALTORS and affiliates of the Central Missouri Board of REALTORS participated in the 2023 REALTOR Volunteer Days, giving local Realtors an opportunity to showcase the time and effort they’ve dedicated to the Marshall Community. In partnership with the National Association of Realtors, Realtors in Marshall joined in on the nationwide philanthropic initiative while maximizing the impact of their volunteer time.
It was a good weekend. On Saturday, the Luber School House board hosted an ice cream social that was open to the community.
Football camps will be available for students in grades 3-- 8 early next month. According to a flyer from Marshall High School head football coach Ian Verts, camps will be held July 6 and 7 at the MHS practice field.

SPORTS EDITOR Following the completion of the regular season, the LaCoMo East softball and baseball leagues held postseason tournaments, with a couple of them won by a team other than the No. 1 seed.
SPORTS EDITOR The Marshall Travelers won one game and lost one last week. The Travelers beat the Sedalia Post 642 Freshmen 10-3 at home June 19 and dropped an 8-4 decision at home to Tipton last Wednesday.
After a successful performance with the Warrensburg Community Band earlier this week, the Marshall Municipal Band is preparing for a flurry of activity over the course of the next two weeks. “It will all begin with our regularly scheduled concert this Thursday evening,” says director Kevin Lines.
