Maybe it’s time to just ‘be still’

I speak with so many people these days who seem to be running all of the time. They go from one project or commitment to the next in rapid succession with hardly a moment to stop and take a deep breath. What strikes me as somewhat funny in these situations, is that no one seems to be forcing anyone to behave in such a manner. These projects, and deadlines are, many times, a choice many people make.

The Saline County Health Department takes public health on the road

JEFFERSON CITY — Every mother wants the best for their children no matter where they live. In rural Missouri, transportation and the driving distance to basic needs, like grocery stores or health care, can be a tremendous barrier. During COVID-19, one local health department stepped up to address that barrier by using federal funds to purchase a mobile trailer to bring Missouri WIC nursing staff and services directly to mothers, fathers, guardians and children in need.
