Owl baseball team drops final two games on Florida trip

After losing their first two games on the Florida trip 9-8 to Sylvania South (Ohio) and 10-0 to Bellbrook (Ohio), Paul Alberson’s Marshall Owls were hoping for better fortunes when they played the Choctawatchee (Fla.) Indians on Thursday and the Olentangy Berlin (Ohio) Bears Friday. However, the Owls, who led 3-2 after the top of the third, allowed eight runs over the next three frames and lost 10-4 to Choctawatchee.

Odell Ave structure demolished last week

The structure at 222 N. Odell Ave., in Marshall, was demolished last week. It was one of four structures listed on the city of Marshall’s Inspection Department’s monthly permit report. According to the department, the property had been on the docket with the Board of Code Enforcement due to the substantial amount of fire damage to the structure. Department officials stated it was demolished by a contractor hired by the owner of the property. Other properties listed for demolition are located on South Miami Avenue, West Washington Street, and North Lincoln Avenue.
