Like most issues this one has multiple fac‐tors to consider. First, how old are you? Your body starts on a long downhill slide after about age 30 that you have some control over. You can't stop it but you can definitely slow it down. The problem is your body is slowly calcifying caus‐ing you to feel stiffer in your joints and mus‐cles. Cardiologists can measure calcium buildup in coronary ar‐teries to determine your risk of heart dis‐ease. 'Hardening of the arteries' is the common phrase to describe this process in your blood vessels. So if you are older and have not been active you have a steeper hill to climb then those who stay fit over time. You now need to resist this calci‐fication process by doing some simple stretching exercises to maintain good range of motion, (ROM) and posture. Do not de‐spair, you can correct a lot of the loss of ROM in your joints and muscles to prevent back pain and a host of other or‐thopedic problems.
