MDC offers free virtual class on firearm cleaning and storage

Chillicothe — Firearms used for hunt‐ing and target shooting need care and mainte‐nance to work properly year after year. The Mis‐souri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free virtual Firearms Basic Care and Cleaning class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednes‐day, Feb. 8. This class will cover cleaning tech‐niques and safe storage of rifles and shotguns. Handguns will not be covered in the class.

Mayor proclaims February as ‘Career and Technical Education Month’

On Tuesday morning, Jan. 31, Marshall Mayor Dewey Hendrix made a proclamation deeming Feb. 1-28 as Career and Technical Education Month. Students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses gain pathway- specific technical and academic skills, while acquiring employability skills, which allow for success in the workplace or future education.
