MVC A.D., wrestling teams inducted into Missouri Sports Hall of Fame
Springfield, Mo.- Former head coach of the men’s wrestling program, and current Missouri Valley College Athletic Director Mike Machholz, along with the men’s wrestling teams from 1996-2005 were inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame during Sunday’s ceremony at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Mo.
Slater teams lose home games to New Franklin
The Slater basketball teams ran into two of the top teams in the Central Activities Conference and lost home games Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats dropped the opener to New Franklin 61-16; and the Bulldog boys beat Slater 83-59 in the nightcap.
Lance recovering after collapsing during practice
On Monday, Jan. 2, during a Week 17 Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field after tackling wide receiver Tee Higgins and required immediate emergency medical treatment.

Missouri school kids invited to participate in No MOre Trash! contest
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Transportation invites Missouri students in grades K‐8 to help fight litter in Missouri – and to have creative and educational fun – by participat‐ing in the 2023 “Yes You CAN Make Missouri Lit‐ter‐ Free” trash‐can‐decorating contest. The contest is part of MoDOT’s annual “No MOre Trash!” statewide litter campaign, which is held in April.
