The tough start to the season for Rachel Harding’s Slater Lady Wildcats continued with a 53-34 Central Activities Conference game at Community Friday. The Lady Trojans jumped to a 20-9 lead after one quarter and led 31-19 by halftime.
Slater sophomore sharpshooter Brandon Terrill was on the mark, registering 34 points, and the visiting Wildcats needed every one of them in a 54-50 Central Activities Conference win at Community Friday. Terrill scored eight points in the first quarter and 12 in the first half.

The Marshall Owls’ boys wrestlers battled four different teams at the Carrollton Duel Friday. The Owls came away with a 1-3 record- beating Lone Jack 54-16 but losing to Penney of Hamilton 54-36, Mexico 39-35 and Chillicothe 49-21.
Diane Schlesselman’s Marshall Lady Owls started slowly, made up the difference in the middle two quarter but eventually lost 42-38 at Fulton Friday. The Lady Owls were down 16-6 at the end of the first quarter but rallied to grab a 27-26 lead after three quarters.
