Freshman Ella Post is the first feature twirler for Marshall High School in six years, and she performed during pre-game and halftime shows at the home football games, as well as at pep rallies and parades. Post has been twirling for 11 years. She also plays an instrument, just like any band member.
The Marshall Police would like to warn merchants and Marshall area residents of movie prop money that is being passed as actual currency. Over the last weekend, the Marshall Police Department received reports of movie prop money being passed as legal tender.
During a regularly scheduled Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen meeting Monday, Dec. 12, City Clerk Michelle Fuehring stated she received an invoice from Marshall-Saline Development Corporation. The unofficial minutes explained the invoice was for the city’s MSDC membership.
Eight Sweet Springs and four Santa Fe football players earned postseason honors in voting by the Missouri 8-Man Coaches’ Association. The Greyhounds, playing their first-ever season of 8-man football, made it all the way to the state semifinal round before falling to Bishop LeBlond.
It was a battle to the final buzzer at in Alma Thursday, and the Santa Fe Lady Chiefs came away with a 31-30 non-conference victory over the Carrollton Lady Trojans. The Trojans took the nightcap by beating the Santa Fe boys 41-33.

An individual and a relay team won events for the Marshall Lady Owls at the Belton Swim Meet Tuesday. The Lady Owls also had some good performances at the Winnetonka Holiday Invite Dec.
