“This year we had a surprise visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and helper Elf,” the Marshall Police Department Facebook page shared on Wednesday, Dec. 14. “The children received ceramic coffee mugs imprinted with our Shop with a Cop logo filled with hot cocoa and candies as a memento of the event. Mom and Dads were given money to shop for a holiday meal or other items they needed while their children went with officers to pick out what they wanted including clothing, shoes, and toys. Once our shoppers were done, they were all treated to pizza courtesy of Pizza Hut.”
Marshall senior Alexis Neff scored a game-high 23 points, including two crucial free throws with just over a minute to play, and the Lady Owls held off a determined Father Tolton Catholic Trailblazers team 58-57 on Kevin Hart Court at MHS Thursday. T he Lady Owls struggled from the charity stripe most of the game, but Neff calmly swished her two charities to increase MHS’s one-point lead to three with 1:09 to go.
