If you are looking for a way to support youths in need during the holiday season, the Mid-Day Optimist Club has made a way to do just that. On Thursday, Nov. 17, several members of the organization set up their annual Angel Tree. In its early years, the Angel Tree supported children at Butterfield Youth Services, which is no longer operational. The past few years, the Angel Tree has provided Christmas gifts to children through the Saline County Holiday Project, which aims to support Saline County families in need during the Christmas season. Gifts are due back to the Viking Athletic Goods store, located on the Marshall square, by 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, and should be left unwrapped. They do need a tag or note saying which number angel they are for.
