The Truth of Love: Time of Thanksgiving
May none of us ever be like Lot's wife when looking back upon that which was rebellious and disobedient to God's morality or longing for those left behind. That we do not leave a permanent legacy of evil, becoming useless pillars, but instead continually be the 'salt' and 'light' of our Lord. We can live in a relationship with our Lord as a 'covenant of salt.' That covenant was an agreement, salt symbolizing a perpetual agreement, not corruptible, an indissoluble commitment. Salt shows permanence; Lot's wife was one resulting in the choice of evil by disobedience. The 'salt' in our life exhibits God's goodness and faithfulness through our love and obedience, so we receive the fruit, the blessings of our committed faith (trust).
