Virtual tour offers families an inside look at The Living Center
Families who are researching places where their aging or ailing loved ones might receive long-term care have a new tool in their research thanks to an online, virtual tour of The Living Center. The Living Center is a 99-bed longterm care, memory care, and skilled nursing facility located in Marshall, Mo.
Sending Bibles to the Philippines
Beginning Sunday, the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church in Marshall will be transformed into a “Bible-making factory” with many hands assembling and praying over God’s Word prior to its shipment to the Philippines. God’s Word, whether spoken or written is alive and powerful, with the potential to change lives and offer hope when situations seem dark.
Community Blood Center declares 2nd blood emergency in 75 days
KANSAS CITY (Oct. 19, 2022) — Community Blood Center (CBC) announced another blood emergency today, their second in 75 days and 4th in 2022, as the region’s blood supply is once again at a 1-2 day supply.

SCCC DECA Chapter attends Tucker Leadership Day
On Monday, Oct. 17, several members of the Saline County Career Center’s DECA chapter attended the Tucker Leadership Day held in Liberty, Mo. The Tucker Leadership Lab takes place at William Jewell College where there are several challenge courses available. Students are able to learn valuable team building skills by completing various challenges on the course. DECA members are divided into teams. These challenges help to create better leaders and encourage team growth and personal development.
Sweet Springs aldermen hear requests for Chamber events, tax requests
During a Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen meeting held Monday, Oct. 10, City Clerk Michelle Fuehring stated she needed permission to put the Transient Guest Tax applications out for pick up. According to unofficial meeting minutes, aldermen approved putting them out with a due date of Jan. 26, 2023.

Owls go for outright NCMC title on soccer pitch Saturday
A year ago, the two teams were in this exact position, only the location was different. This year, the Marshall Owls’ boys soccer team has a chance to claim the outright championship in the North Central Missouri Conference with a win at home over Hannibal.

Two selected Marshall High School ‘Athletes of Month’ for September
Two Marshall High School standouts have been selected as “Athletes of the Month,” with awards sponsored by Big Iron Realty. Junior offensive guard and defensive middle linebacker Nick Arnold earned the award on the boys side.
