According to 1 Peter 2:9, believers are a royal priesthood. So just what is a royal priesthood? The term combines the offices, or callings, or anointings, of kings and priests into one role.

Dear Editor, I wish I could thank personally all the volunteers that helped with the hun I wish I could thank personally all the volunteers that helped with the hundreds of flags displayed at the Marshall park on Monday, Memorial Day. My husband, a veteran, and I drove through the park to see this most impressive flag tribute to our veterans.

1 vehicle travels off roadway

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported there was a motor vehicle accident that occured in Saline County a little after midnight on Monday, May 30. A 2001 Pontiac Grand Am had been traveling on Lincoln Avenue in Marshall when it traveled off the left side of the roadway.

Missouri DECA honors students at Excellence in Marketing Education Ceremony

On Tuesday, May 17, Saline County Career Center DECA students Holly Huston and Bailey Kueker were among several Missouri DECA students honored for their achievements at ICDC in Atlanta, Ga., in April. Honorees, advisors, and parents were invited to the Gover nor’s Mansion and received a special plaque for their accomplishments. Huston and Kueker were recognized as top presenters in their Integrated Marketing Campaign-Event. They were the first sophomores from SCCC DECA to attend ICDC.

Bricks added to Veterans Memory Walk of Honor

Thirty veterans bricks were added to the Veterans Memory Walk of Honor on Saturday, May 28, at the Saline County Courthouse. Bricks were placed on the north side of the courthouse. The next time veterans bricks will be installed will be before Veterans Day. Brick applications are available at the courthouse in the Recorder, Collector and Treasurer offices, from Ed Reis at Wood & Huston Bank, Dale Zank Insurance office or by contacting Charlie Guthrie at 660-631-9355.
