Jean Hibbard, 86, of Gilliam, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at Gilliam Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Huff officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Cemetery, with Jeff Bonner, Kaih Lawson, Luis Chavez, Jarid Hill, Coby Clements and Chris Hibbard serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to Gilliam Baptist Church or Big Bend Retreat in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born Nov. 27, 1934, in Houstonia, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Hazel Davis Mullins. On Oct. 17, 1951, in Nelson, she married Harry L. Hibbard, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1988.

She is survived by three sons, Michael Hibbard and his wife, Brenda, of Auxvasse, Gary Hibbard and his wife, Stephanie, of Gilliam, and Rick Hibbard and his wife, Jackie, of Gilliam; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Williamson and Ruby Thornton, both of Marshall. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Jean Hibbard; a brother, Jay Mullins; and a sister, Mary Ford.

Mrs. Hibbard was a member of the Gilliam Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, and helped in the church kitchen. She was the bookkeeper for Hibbard TV in Gilliam for several years.
