Vicki was born in Sweet Springs, Mo., on Nov. 29, 1952, to Curtis O. Wingfield and Betty Sue Dennis Wingfield. In 1970, Vicki graduated from Marshall High School, and on July 3 that year she married her husband of 49-plus years, William Ray Piper. A career bookkeeper and an avid reader, Vicki’s true passion was genealogy. This prompted multiple trips to Kentucky and Virginia for research. She then spent her retirement years freely sharing her own discoveries and helping others with their research. Bill and Vicki shared many adventures traveling 46 of the lower 48 states. Her favorite city was San Francisco, which they visited many times.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Bill; their only child, Cathy Lea Piper; one grandson, Michael “AC” White; and one granddaughter, Piper Ann Kimball.
She was preceded in death by both parents; an infant brother, Curtis O. Wingfield Jr.; and her beloved sister, Linda Susan Long.
She will be missed.
