1 injured when semi overturns on Interstate 70

A Georgia man sustained minor injuries when the truck he was in crashed on Interstate 70 Sunday evening, Jan. 19.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the incident occurred at 6:40 p.m. in the westbound lanes.

The 2019 International Prostar — driven by Michael Howard, 36, of Kenosha, Wisc. — traveled off the right side of the road, struck ERM 82.4, traveled back onto the road and overturned. The truck came to rest on its passenger side, blocking the westbound lanes, the report stated.

The driver did not have any reported injuries. However a passenger — Don Bagwell, 58, of Augusta, Ga. — was transported to a hospital via ambulance for minor injuries. According to the report, he was not wearing a safety device.

MSHP was assisted on scene by the Saline County Ambulance District, Marshall Fire Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Department.
