Born November 3, 1923, in Marshall, MO, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Davenport and Ruby Mark Davenport Reed. On June 17, 1953, in Marshall, she married Earl C. Moore and they lived in Marshall all their lives, retiring to Nelson, MO. She retired from International Shoe Factory after 17 years, and her husband, Earl, retired from Saline County Implement Company. When they retired, they both enjoyed working in their large garden and going to the fish fries in Nelson. Her favorite thing was frying her famous fried chicken for family dinners and spending time with her niece, great-niece and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. After the passing of her husband on August 19, 1992, she moved back to Marshall and began working at the Salt Fork YMCA. She loved working and visiting with all her friends. After several strokes, she was unable to work and live on her own. She retired at the age of 90 after 14 years of service. She then moved to Blue Springs with her niece, Sheila and husband Brent, where she loved watching the Royals and the Chiefs.
Survivors include a niece, Sheila A. DeMoss (Brent) of Blue Springs; her sister, Elda Wiseman of Slater, MO; great-nephews, Jarrid A. Hammer and Cody Hammer (Chelsea) of Independence, MO; great-niece, Bethany A. Hammer of Blue Springs; and great-great-nephews and nieces, Payton Hammer, Carson Hammer, Madisyn Hammer, Londyn and Zoe Bostic.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sadie was preceded in death by five sisters, Dorothy M. Sherman, Anne Cunningham, Frances Murphy, Peggy Meloy and Donna Wilson.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Manor and Kindred Hospice for their superior dedication to her care, comfort and love. She will be missed deeply by her family and best friends, Randy Siebert and Suzanne Smith.
