MHA announces new executive director

The Marshall Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners has selected Belinda Millard as the organization’s new executive director. Millard will succeed David K. Hayes, who has served as the housing authority’s executive director since November of 1989.

"The Board of Commissioners and staff of the Marshall Housing Authority are thrilled to have Belinda lead our organization into the next era of affordable housing," Marshall Housing Authority chairman Donald Garst said. "In a time when the need for quality, safe, affordable housing is in the spotlight, Belinda’s experience at a very well managed housing authority, combined with her knowledge and her passion for serving the needs of our resident families, will no doubt enable MHA to play a key role in providing affordable housing in our city."

Millard has 24 years of experience in housing and property management and currently serves as the deputy director of the Marshall Housing Authority, overseeing accounting, human resources, and management of staff.

"I would like to thank the Marshall Housing Authority Board of Commissioners for selecting me as the new executive director," Millard said. "I am excited about this opportunity to work with the Board, staff, residents, community and partners to elevate MHA’s presence and impact in the community."

Millard’s term begins on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
