Body recovered from Blind Pony Lake positively identified
The body that was recovered at Blind Pony Lake this past August was positively identified, according to information posted via social media from the Saline County Coroner’s Office.
The man was identified as 53-year-old Thomas Lee Bedsworth Jr., of Jackson County. He had last been seen on Friday, Aug. 9, and was reported as a missing person.
The coroner’s office stated that preliminary autopsy results showed no signs of injury or trauma, and the preliminary cause of death was drowning.
Bedsworth’s body was found Tuesday, Aug. 13. Area staff located property on the bank of the lake containing identification belonging to a missing person. A conservation agent contacted the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, and recovery was made at approximately 1 p.m.
In Saline County Coroner Willie Harlow’s statement, he thanked the agencies that assisted in this case while he was unavailable, including Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Department of Conservation and Saline County Conservation Agent.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Bedsworth,” the coroner’s office stated.
