Daughters of Isabella holds April 10 meeting
The Daughters of Isabella met Wednesday, April 10, at Knights of Columbus Hall in Marshall.
Vice Regent Virginia Sprigg called the meeting to order and gave the Pledge of Allegiance. Chancellor Helen Girard read the opening prayer.
The Spiritual Committee reported attendance at First Saturday Rosary at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 6. The Vocation Cross is with Tracy Anderson’s family.
Roll Call of officers showed nine present and three excused.
Minutes from the March 13 meeting were read and approved.
Communications: Invitation to Christopher Hoffmann’s graduation at Conception Abbey on May 11.
The Scribe reported that the minutes of the last meeting were submitted and will be published in the local newspaper.
Report of Standing Committees:
Welfare – Anne passed out sign-up sheets for the Rummage Sale. A meal of sandwiches and sides will be served at 6 p.m. New signs are almost ready.
Visitation of the Sick: Dorothy visited Bernice Pollard.
Anne provided a new calling list with the new members.
Respect for Life: Discussed the movie “Unplanned.” Virginia wrote thank you notes to Kim Thompson and to James Weaver. She also read the letter she wrote to Abby Johnson.
Vicki Spencer agreed to head a Youth Committee with Anita and Maureen as members.
Unfinished Business: Queen Isabella Day will be celebrated at 7:30 Mass on Sunday, April 14, with breakfast at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The quarter ends April 30. A tentative date set for the audit is May 7 at noon at Millie’s house.
Father Mark’s Birthday is April 14. Cake and punch will be served after 11 a.m. Mass.
Good of the Order
May 2 will be the First Saturday Rosary in the Chapel at 10 a.m.
The next meeting is May 8 at Knights of Columbia. The social is at 6 p.m. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Priests are invited.
