Marshall Kiwanis Club holds meeting
The Marshall Kiwanis Club held its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 27, at Community Bank on the Marshall square.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, led by John Carton, and prayer offered by Jim Ferguson, Club President Gabe Ramsey called the meeting to order, with 20 members and one guest in attendance.
Club Treasurer Marty Smith announced that the club’s recent chili supper netted $2,600, and that they appreciate the support shown by the Marshall community. Proceeds will be used to support numerous youth-related endeavors throughout Marshall and Saline County.
Ferguson introduced Richard Clemens, Saline County northern district commissioner. Clemens provided detailed information about the proposed half-cent sales tax, which will be on the county’s April 3 ballot.
Following discussions from the club’s members, the meeting was adjourned, with Curtis Carter winning the $10 pot.
